Carbon capture fiber technology allows air to 'penetrate' the body, decoding China's' dual carbon 'wisdom based on the' Jinjiang experience '

Quanzhou Net, May 29th (Xinhua News Agency) - A submachine jacket made of industrial waste gas and a pair of running shoes transformed from discarded plastic bottles... This is not a science fiction scene, but a vivid practice of Chinese sports brands such as ANTA and 361 ° C practicing technological innovation to promote emissions reduction and seize the global low-carbon track - ANTA and suppliers jointly tackle the problem, turning carbon dioxide in industrial waste gas into polyester fiber, which can capture 364 kilograms of carbon dioxide per ton of material produced; Spinning discarded plastic bottles into recycled yarn at 361 ° C, based on the annual sales of 1.5 million pairs of a single running shoe, is equivalent to reducing over 40 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Following the direction pointed out by General Secretary Xi Jinping, Quanzhou's private enterprises, known for their spirit of love, hard work, and daring to win, are inheriting, promoting, and innovating the "Jinjiang experience". Through low-carbon technology, they are participating in the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, providing a "Chinese solution" for global emissions reduction, and writing a mission and responsibility unique to Chinese private enterprises on the world stage.

Green Transformation of Waste Gas Bottles: The Icebreaking Transformation Path of Material Innovation

Is it true that air can also transform into clothes? Empowered by technological innovation, this ingenious idea has become a reality. Recently, ANTA and its suppliers jointly tackled the problem and successfully converted carbon dioxide collected from industrial waste gas into carbon capture polyester fibers through complex processes such as liquefaction, purification, hydrogenation, and chemical polymerization.

The main fabric used to make assault jackets is polyester fiber, also known as polyester. Under traditional production methods, polyester fiber needs to be obtained through petrochemicals, which consumes a large amount of non renewable resources and emits a lot of carbon dioxide, "said Zhao Shangzhen, a senior engineer at ANTA Group.

According to calculations, for every ton of carbon capture polyester fiber produced, 364 kilograms of carbon dioxide from industrial waste gas can be captured. Compared to producing the same amount of native petroleum based polyester fiber, carbon emissions are reduced by 28.4%. Taking Anta Carbon Capture Environmental Protection Technology T-shirts as an example, for every T-shirt produced, about 35 grams of carbon dioxide from industrial waste gas can be recovered. Producing 400000 pieces of clothing is equivalent to the annual carbon dioxide absorption of 1200 trees.

Nowadays, this technology has been applied to the design of products such as assault jackets and running T-shirts, opening a new chapter in the green development of clothing materials. ANTA has also become the first brand in China to apply carbon capture technology on a large scale to sportswear.
